Like many people you're missing the main cause of current revolt - it was the invention in 1889 of economic human rights. In this case, it was the decision of the Germany government led by Bismarck to institute a state pension. The New Deal was a large extension of this. Your present government is trying to cut down economic human rights; soi DOGE, cuts to MedicAid, medical research, etc. The problem is that the millionaires and billionaires as well as the solitary trillionaire are all concerned that economic human rights have no end.
They're theoretically right, but each budget is an annual settlement of the level of economic human rights spending. It is one thing that has given the US its national debt of US$36 trillion.
So there is a genuine problem, but if I were say Peter Thiel I'd be very discontented with the relatively small achievements of the two Trump administrations. thats why a coup attempt is to be expected eventually, by the present white house occupant or some subsequent one.
